DENVER, April 16, 2012 – Avanquest Mobile Technologies, a leading developer of consumer and OEM software for mobile devices, today announced the release of Mobile Safe Driving, the newest module in the myMobile Companion suite of software for protecting people, devices, and content.

Mobile Safe Driving is an application that runs on smartphones and stops drivers from sending and receiving text messages and phone calls while behind the wheel. In addition to basic call and message blocking, Mobile Safe Driving includes a complete set of critical control, monitoring, and notification features:
• Can be activated automatically once the vehicle is moving more than 18mph/12Km/h.  Also has a manual activation mode.
• Parents can authorize access to specific safe programs, such as navigation or music.
• Major activity, including speeding and switching off the phone, is logged and parents are notified.
• Parents can see the route and present location of their child on an online map.
• Parents can select the time and means for notifications.
• A driver in an emergency can send a notification with one click.

The application will be available through participating carriers, OEMs, and resellers.

“Safe driving is a paramount concern for parents of young drivers,” said David Wright, president, Avanquest Mobile Technologies. “And by leveraging our quarter-century of work with leading OEMs, operators, and other resellers around the world, we have developed an application that has both a comprehensive set of features that can be offered in the way that meets the localization and branding needs of our partners.”

Mobile Safe Driving is available on the Android platform, with additional platforms coming soon. It is part of the myMobile Companion suite of applications and services for operators, OEMs, and resellers.   Avanquest has created a consumer-branded demo site.  Companies interested in seeing what a consumer might experience can go to: http://mymobilecompanion.com.
