When it comes to life-or-death situations, the importance of realtime data is second to none. For this reason, M2M (machine-to-machine) technologies, including connected devices and the networks that support the transfer of mission-critical data, are being used across the country to increase first responders’ efficiency and decrease their response time.
Global Relief Technologies, www.GRT.com, is one company harnessing M2M to produce these results. The company’s RDMS (Rapid Data Management System), provides the ability to collect, analyze, and share data quickly and securely, which can be especially important in emergency situations. Earlier this year, Global Relief Technologies released version 6.0 of the RDMS solution.
Ultimately, the company says the goal is to deliver data that will help professionals make informed decisions in near realtime. This week, Global Relief Technologies announced it has been accepted into AT&T’s, www.att.com, IMAP (Industry & Mobility Alliance Program), which means its RDMS mobile-technology solution will be available to enterprises as one of AT&T’s offerings.
RDMS operates on the Android, Windows, and iOS mobile platforms, plus offers an intuitive graphical user interface, 100% realtime two-way communication, integrated GPS and GIS (geographic information system) mapping capabilities, and—importantly for the emergency-response industry—the ability to stay connected via BGAN (broadband global area network) satellite communications when wireless or other modes of connection are not available.
On Tuesday, June 12 at the Connected World Conference, the session “When Seconds Matter” will take on this topic, discussing how modern devices and robust networks are helping first-response teams reach the scene of an emergency and make the most informed decisions possible.
Attend the session, stick around to chat with the experts, and then get up close and personal with the technology that may some day help save your life, or the life of someone you love. On Wednesday, June 13, attendees will get the chance to see a connected ambulance from ProTransport-1, www.protransport-1.com, as part of the Connected World Conference Exhibit Hall. Admission to the Exhibit Hall is free.
